Why do external members have to pay more?
The trips are initially priced as for "external" members so that they should run at cost: the TC's place is paid for, and the club expects to make no further profit or loss.

Because EIS is an ESOC club, its "internal" members - people who work at ESOC or Eumetsat - are then subsidised by an amount fixed for each trip. Other people aren't entitled to a subsidy, but they are only paying cost price, they are not subsidising anyone!

NOTE that the policy was tightened as a result of changes to the SSCC constitution, but subsequently slightly relaxed - a spouse/partner of an internal member is again considered "internal".
